Independent Living Skills

For over 20 years, 6VT successfully delivered Keysteps Independent Living courses, with past participants consistently telling us how valuable it was and asking for its return.
We’re thrilled to announce that, thanks to three years of funding from the Bank of Scotland Foundation, the course is back - updated, relevant, and ready to support young people aged 16 - 26 as they prepare to move into their own accommodation, tenancy, or home.
Our refreshed 6‑week groupwork programme will run on a rolling basis throughout the funding period. It’s practical, interactive, and designed to build the essential skills needed to thrive in independent living.

Alongside learning, participants will also have opportunities to:

• Get involved in wider 6VT activities (if they wish)

Meet new people and make friends

• Access ad-hoc support from our friendly youth work team

   ​

Ideal for:

• Care leavers

• Young people in temporary accommodation

• Anyone who needs a little extra support to succeed in living independently
