6VT Youth Café is located in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. We are a safe, welcoming place where young people from across the city can spend time with others, find support, and take part in personal development opportunities.

Open 52 weeks a year and five days a week, our hours extend beyond most traditional services, providing a vital resource when many young people need it most.

As a purpose-built youth café, we bring together youth and social workers with specialist practitioners. This blended approach makes 6VT a “one-stop shop” that offers both a supportive environment and a wide range of services.
For some, 6VT is a place to spend time with friends and try new activities. For others, it is where they find guidance and opportunities for growth. For many, it is a safe and constructive alternative at times when they might otherwise feel at risk.

With more than 30 years of experience and a footfall of over 180,000 young people, 6VT has steadily grown and adapted, reaching those who may not engage with other services. We support children and young people aged 0 to 25, offering both open access and tailored programmes that respond to a wide range of needs.

We remain focused on encouraging young people to build on their strengths, take positive steps, and shape better futures for themselves and their communities.
